sticky statistics?

Hi during test we deleted a course with subsequent lesson (Scorm package) and added new course applied new question = scorm package new course inherited the name of the old, scorm package had new file name but same title When we check statistics a test user with 100% progress on the previous course/lesson shows up with 100% on the new Course node/Lesson as well. is this a bug or are stats related to SEO titles rather than file names or node number? is there a way to reset statistics for a given user? Thanks
