Time based subscriptions

Hi, I am following upon your exchange with PC about “time limited” subscriptions to a class. I must admit I have not understood everything about your suggested 2 options but maybe you can help me if I explain to you what I need. My idea is to create an “all year round on-going” class which would be running let’s say every Monday for 2 hours (e.g. 14.00 till 16.00 pm). This class would be semi-public for paying and non-paying accounts. I want users to be able to sign up, any time of the year, for 20 hours (10 sessions from the Monday they start). This means that within this same class, I would have students with different expiration dates to this class, depending on the day they subscribe and the Monday they start. Administrating manually each single user expiration date to that class would be a nightmare. Is there another way of doing it? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi NB,

Hi NB,

This is something completly different from what i discussed with PB,

First of all, what would be the difference from paying accounts and non paying accounts? Will you be selling anything? By default, if a group is semi-private anyone can subscribe.

Also, what kind of sessions would these be? What will you be tracking and what do you expect from the system? Can you give me some examples?

Best regards

Time based subscriptions

Hi James, Thanks for your quick response. I will try to answer your questions. 1/ The paying students would arrive directly through the e-commerce part of our website/Opigno. The non-paying students would arrive through requests from their company/employers which pay for their employees. We would therefore have to sign them up manually as billing and payment would be done separately in our accounting software and e-commerce is not involved. So we would be selling exactly the same thing to both but subscription and payment are done differently. 2/ I guess the group (class and included courses) are thus semi-private? 3/ Type of sessions: I am selling blended learning packages including face-to-face in-class with teacher (this is what I mean with "session") + on-line learning activities, between 2 sessions, which need to be tracked even so in order for the teacher to follow-up on work done by student. The way this would work on Opigno: I would create a CLASS/Group according to subject, which would include 2 courses (one for face2face lessons and one for on-line lessons). So to answer your question: I am selling an “Opigno CLASS” which includes 2 courses (face2face + e-learning). But you can consider the e-learning to be FREE as I will not be billing for connection time. I have no problem with this so far. But here comes the tricky part: My idea is to create an “all year round on-going” CLASS which would be running let’s say every Monday for 2 hours (e.g. 14.00 till 16.00 pm). I want students to be able to sign up, any time of the year, for 20 hours (10 sessions from the Monday they start). This means that within this same CLASS/GROUP, I would have students with different access/expiration dates to this class, depending on the day they subscribe and the Monday they start. Administrating manually each single user expiration date to that class would be a nightmare. Is there another way of doing it? I hope this helps? Best regards,
