How to upload MCQs in bulk

Hello First of all I request you to put a search field in the forum so that any body can search in the forum if his question is already asked/answered now I have two questions. How can I upload MCQs in bulk on my Opigno LMS site? What is the difference between Activity and Answer in Opigno LMS as both look same to me? Also I get "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." when I try to "Add Answer" in my Opigno LMS. It is a fresh install. How to deal with that.

Hi DaringDV

Hi DaringDV Same here, Add Answer, gives unexpected error message (version 2.11). Difference between Activity and Answer not documented in the online documentation. Would like to know how to use it. What is the purpose?? I'm also interested in the first question, the bulk import. I figured out how the import of SINGLE opi-files works and developed a workflow for my own MCQ-database to convert them to opi-files. The questions still is: how will I be able to get these couple of thousand MCQs in Opigno without doing all the import work manually? Some explanation on bulk import would be nice. viragom

Alternate Way

Hi Everyone I could not find direct way to add bulk MCQs directly. But I have found a workaround for this using Quiz(Question Set). You can use simple text file to upload MCQs in bulk. For more information you can see https://h5p.org/question-set. I can give details if required. Still looking forward for better solution and answer to second part of my question in #1 Thank you.

alternate way

Maybe I have another suggestion which you can try... The Questions Set is just one type of activity in h5p. Not all of my activities should be presented as a Quiz (set). In the Quiz set you can add text (copied from another file) to add more questions at once. Downside is that you have to use Quiz all the time, and that the text needs to be properly formatted. At this very moment my MCQs are XML or XLSX files, and using the Quiz type would mean writing a program that outputs the text in the proper format. Doable, but still... you can only have Quizzes in your courses, and cannot use the separate questions elsewhere. There is another way though, and that is making use of the Course importing option. For my XML or XLSX files I write separate programs to bulk create separate OPI-files for each activity I want (i.e. MCQ, FITB, Short Answer, etc.). And put them together in a Course import OPI file, which you import in Opigno. The Course will be imported, and so will all the activities within the Course. You can then use the separate activities in other Courses as well. For the Quiz activity I hope they will make it possible to add separate activities instead of recreating the Quiz questions each time. Hope this helps...
